Occasionally we receive requests for custom projects both birdhouse and non-birdhouse related. Prior to Christmas 2020 we had two such projects. Mailboxes! After all, isn't a mailbox just a birdhouse...but without a hole!
One of the mailboxes we built and primed. The client is currently painting themselves. Photos will be posted when they become available.
The second mailbox is pictured below and was created as a Christmas gift for family members. The entire mailbox is made from reclaimed wood.
We designed/3D modelled the panels to resemble the front of their home. This was done with SAi EnRoute CNC Software. Then the designs were carved into the wood on our CNC router. After the CNC did it's work we had to do some clean up by hand, then assembled and painted the mailbox.
We used high grade exterior primer, exterior house paints and exterior Modern Masters Metallic paints for the numbers. The lid was left natural cedar with linseed oil.
